Hello I am Francisco
Everyone has an origin, a starting place, a birth, a beginning. I don't quite remember my beginning. There are memories though, even if they are a bit fuzzy. What I remember is metal, machines maybe, and the sounds, oh the sounds, of pressing, zipping, and buzzing. I assume that is where I was made. The first clear memory I have is of being in something that contained us all. I was surround by other furry animals of all shapes and colors. All of us were waiting. We didn't know for what, but there was an anticipation in the air. An anticipation of finding a new home, a sense of adventure of what was beyond what we knew at that moment. My time came when a beige colored thing burst through the other furry animals and took hold of me. I was anxious, scared and delighted all at the same time. I felt a pull upward as this strange claw like thing brought me to the surface. That is when I saw the world beyond the world I knew. It was bright, I thought I went to this place called heaven (I heard of it while waiting for the big moment). The bright place had many shelves with things on them. So many things and this face, which I later learned was called a person, with two eyes was staring at me with a funny line curved up towards the bottom.
That was my first memory. The rest of that encounter went quickly. Someone else ran me across this other metal thing and the person gave the other person some green paper looking stuff. After that I ended up in a thing called "The Easter Basket" which was bequeathed to a person called "Our daughter". I later learned her name and learned that my life would be filled with traveling and seeing something called "the world". My official job title was Travel Buddy and I was named Francisco. I had no clue what lay in store for me or where my journey will end. For now I know that I started my "first" days in a place called Des Moines, Iowa.
I have spent a lot of time in this city and have come to enjoy all that it has to offer. It isn't as big as other cities like Chicago, LA, New York City, and many more, but I like it. In my next blog post I will share different things that I like to do around Des Moines, where to eat, find great coffee, etc. Stay tuned for more of my adventures not only in a place called the United States of America, but also of the world.
